About time I put some new stuff up!

Here is my latest project... It's actually work, but I had fun creating it and it really just has been too long since i posted anything on here, so there you go - craftiness! Woot :)

Why I do what I do

I've been sewing since I was 5 years old. I would sit next to my mom and watch her make clothes for me and my two sisters. She would also sew for our dolls; clothes, bedding, teddybears etc. My mom would let me use the sewing machine once in a while, and I made clothes for my barbies and my teddybear, the polar bear Isaac. I'll admit it, it wasn't a pretty sight, sometimes it fit sometimes it really didn't. But this was when my first interest in sewing started.

Here I am 18 years later, a little more skilled and able to make things that will actually fit. Maybe you'd think that after having the same hobby for 18 years, I would get sick of it and start doing something else. For many people it might work this way, not for me. Everytime I've put my sewing on hold and tried out something else (crocheting, knitting, macramé, making jewelry, scrapbooking, painting, decoupage - the list goes on...) I've always found my way back to sewing.

My favorite part of the process of making an item is the problem solving part. Not that I love running in to problems when I'm working on one of my creations, but I've always liked good challenge. Now, sewing is where I go to tuned the world out. It is my sanctuary.
