I had to make something to keep my brand spanking new iPhone scratch free. Since I love owls and I love green it wasn't a hard design :-)

Wallet

My wallet broke, so of course I had to make a new one. I had some remnants from my pillow project, and since everything I make right now has to be green (the color, that is - and I don't know why, I'm just a little obsessed with it) this was a perfect fit! I think it turned out pretty great.

Also if you were wondering where my crafting has been the last few months I can tell you I have had a but load of special orders that won't be posted here. I made about 5 or 6 dresses plus 2 tops. As always keeping myself busy.

Oh, and I've been working on a scrapbook, photos to come :-)

Failure.

I have failed miserably. I promised I would make something and post pictures every day of June. As it turns out - that was HARD. I ended up not having as much time as I thought, I would. I definitely ended up having less energy than I thought I would have. So, here is my sincere apology. If you were expecting something every day, Thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Trusting me to stick to my word. There is something cool about this failure, though. A few weeks ago I was doing my usual stumbling (www.stumbleupon.com - seriously, check it out, you will love it <3 ) and I came across a set of rules. But not just any set of rules, no it was a codified set of the Builder's, Crafter's, Maker's rules.

I know it's kinda tiny, so just in case you can't read the 4th rule, I'll rewrite it here. It states the following:

A failure is simply an experiment. Most efforts will fail. Rarely should the same failure repeat itself.

So there you have it. Failure is okay. This was simply an experiment, and I experienced that having to make something crafty every single day, while trying to keep up with both a full time job and a full time life, is simply impossible. For me at least.

June 15th. Notebook.

I realize this is the first post in three days, here's the thing; I've been working lots and maybe a little uninspired. I am realizing how much of a challenge it is to make something EVERY day. But here is today's project, a notebook. I was inspired by a craft blog I stumbled upon (www.stumbleupon.com) hope you enjoy :)

June 12th. Shoe Makeover

Today's project is a repair/makeover. I had a pair of shoes that lost most of it's goldliness, so I decided to give them a little pick me up makeover. Golden textile paint and glitter medium did the trick.

This picture is before, notice the tip of the shoe - no gold left.

This is the after picture, all new and SHINY! :)

June 11th. Tea storage.

Today I decorated the box I keep my tea in. Also Julie (my roommate) made a lantern, so todays project is a joined effort.

June 10th.

I didn't make anything today, because I was busy living life. More to come soonish.

Coasters. June 7th.

Today's project was a spur of the moment kind of thing. I needed to make something quick, yet useful. So I decided on coasters. I took some fabric scraps and laminated them, not sure if the laminator would actually be able to take the thickness of both fabric and laminator sheet, but itworked. And I really like them :)

June 6th. Another pillow cover.

So I bought a quadrillion pillows for my bed, so here's another pillow cover. There will probably be more, I have a plan for an owl pillow cover. Keep your eye out for it :)

June 5th. Seated hamper.

This is actually just a renovation. My Mom and Dad made this hamper for me about 6 or 7 years ago. I decided to change the upholstery, because my room is all white in white and I needed some more color. I took of the old fabric, tan with white swirls, and replaced it with purple corduroy.

June 4th

Today I made a leather bracelet. We actually sell the little sets for these at my store, so I decided I'd try to make one, you know for commercial use. :)

June 3rd. Making up for lost time.

I made shelves for my craft closet. All it had before was a rod for hangers, which isn't all that handy for storing boxes.

June 2nd

Today I made a notebook cover (also for work) but my camera disappeared in the mess of moving boxes, sooo... Pictures to come! :)

Lanterns

These little lanterns are perfect for summer. This was a project I did for work, and I think they turned out pretty neat!

Another laptop sleeve.

By now I think laptop sleeves are the thing I've sold the most of. This one I made for my sister it was quite the challenge to get the zipper on because the protection part is so thick, but I got it in the 3rd or 4th try, and I really like it :)

Organizing thins. Latest project.

I decided that I needed somewhere to organize some of all my papers that I always just have lying around my room, so on my wardrobe closet I hot glued some wooden pegs and assigned them different functions; Bills, ideas. measurements, random and orders. Helps me keep track of things - hopefully... I might as well tell you that I already did lose something that I thought I put there.

Summer skirt

Ever since this fabric arrived at the store I work at, I knew I was destined to make something out of it. (Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but you get my drift) The other day the sun was really shining and I felt like it was time to make a new skirt, so I got this fabric out and this is what happened.

New Storage Unit

For this product I used some old cardboard tubes my Dad had, 3 different colors of acrylic paint with a metal finish for the inside, white acrylic paint and glossy varnish for the outside and some plastic lining for the edges.

This is how I used to store my writing utensils. Not very handy as I always had to search for what I needed. So I decided to do something about it!

I had been wanting to make this for a while, not quite sure what I was gonna use it for.

This is the finished product! I think it turned out pretty nice. And I can sort out my writing utensils so I have pencils, sharpies, highlighters and fabric markers, all in different compartments and easy accessible.

Second hoodie!

This is my second hoodie. I don't love it s much as the first one, just because I like the colors of the other one better. Which means I might be selling this shirt! Let me know if you are interested. It's probably close to a size large, has lovely ling sleeves and the hood has the cutest little purple and green owls on the inside!

Bag and make up purse

Newest addition to my handbag collection. It is made out of waxed table cloth with flamingos, and lined with a powder pink cotton on the inside.

It is a copy of an old bag I had, that had gotten too worn down, but I just really LOVE the size and the design of it.

This is the first time I've ever made a shirt! And I am beyond proud of myself :-) check out the photos and leave a comment to let me know what you think!
